Maydell Goulart Tells Her Story
At the age of ten I was introduced to religion for the first time through a local religious study group held in our home by my father. After six months I began to question some of the teachings presented. I decided that there had to be someone walking this earth who knew the real truth. While pondering on this subject, an invisible presence made itself known and assured me that “I was not to be concerned about this now. When I was in my mature years I would find a teacher and a teaching that would answer all my questions.” I accepted the reality of this inner message and refused to participate in the study group any longer.
During my twenties and early thirties I had a number of health incidents that required a doctor's assistance. My experience with these doctors was very dismal. I ended up having to heal myself. I then had a wakeup call just before my 36th birthday that eventually set me on the path of finding the spiritual teacher I was told about as a ten year old child. It was a seven-year quest and very early on I was briefly introduced to the mysterious Great White Brotherhood. I made contact with the teacher in the seventh year on July 7, 1977. It opened up a whole new world to me that until then I had only been partially aware of. It changed my worldview and what life was all about forever. It made life far more interesting, worthwhile and meaningful.
Along the way I became aware of several different healing methods that I was able to put to good use for my personal healing—color light therapy being one of them. Later I began to use the light of higher dimensions for healing purposes, which I mention in my book, Inner Secrets, under the pseudonym M. Victoria Davis. This was a step up from other methods that were part physical in nature—not requiring special tools or equipment, only a verbal request and inner visualization. The end goal of this was to help others in need of healing and illumination.
In 2011, I deeded over my ten-acre property as a not-for-profit healing center under the direction of myself, Deborah and Jackie. We spent three years planning. In the fourth year, we began the first physical projects by building a small vaastu temple of healing and planting three permaculture sites surrounding it.

Dr. Nancy Lach
Dr. Nancy Lach, a Chiropractic Physician focused on holistic healing, is passionate about helping empower people to achieve optimum health. Since receiving her advanced trained in Nutrition Response Testing, she has been helping patients achieve better health through custom designed nutrition programs. She has been married to Dan, also a Chiropractor, since 1987. They practice together in Corvallis, OR where they have lived since 2002. They have four grown children.
A Personal Message from Dr. Nancy
I have been passionate about nutrition for many years. Originally planning to attend medical school, I decided instead to pursue a holistic approach to health that better matched my personal convictions. I graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and then received my Chiropractic degree from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1986.
Over the years, I attended many post graduate seminars in the field of holistic health and nutrition. In 2006, I was introduced to an approach to nutrition that provided me with the personal health improvements I had been seeking, along with a way to provide true healing to others. My advanced training in nutrition response testing has given me the knowledge and tools to be able to thoroughly evaluate each individual and provide personalized solutions to the underlying causes of many health issues.
The services I offer through the Healing Light Retreat combine my thirty plus years as a health practitioner with the intuition I have developed and been blessed with as I have pursued a spiritual path since the age of twenty-one. The workshops and videos I offer are intended to educate others while providing self-healing empowerment.
Janet Little, LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor)
Janet has been counseling for over 20 years, including 12 years in substance abuse counseling and group therapy. Following graduate work, she trained in EMDR* and is particularly drawn to trauma therapy and women’s issues. Some other favorite modes of treatment are Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. She has counseled clients from many religious, cultural and spiritual perspectives, honoring the worldview of each client, helping clients determine where they are now, where they would like to be and how to make the journey to their more fulfilled self.
*EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is primarily known simply as EMDR. It is a widely tested, evidence-based therapy for trauma, PTSD and numerous other psychological and behavioral issues.
Sharon Wallace
Sharon was born in Severn, Maryland on a farmette, the youngest of seven children. Early in life she studied with the Rosicrucians and Eckankar groups. She has worked as a polysomnagrapher (sleep technician) as well as a colon hydrotherapist. She also provided massage and reflexology at the Natural Health Center in Maryland. Sharon volunteered with Americorps teaching “Tree Tribe” while also assisting the Master gardeners in showing youth how to plant seeds to grow gardens at home. In 1992 she attended the Summit University spiritual class sponsored by The world mothers and the Buddha of the ruby ray. Sharon is always ready for her next adventure!
Dominique Cipriani
Dominique has had a passion for health and wellness all of her adult life. In 2009 she was attuned to reiki, certified by the ICRT (International Center for Reiki Training). By 2012 she was certified at the master/teacher level. In 2015 she received training in medical Qi Gong. In 2017 she was trained in Transcendental meditation. “I like to look at it as more of an energy transference. Whether it be reiki or another form of energy healing, pure intension is the key. It Is so exciting to know that energy healing is now being used in many hospitals around the world.”
Dominique offers sound healing, distance reiki, and guided meditation. “I believe in the mission of the HLR with all my heart. Once we learn how to unlock our inner healer the doors will be open to a full shift and transformation in our health.”
Jackie Fleder
Jackie has been on a spiritual path for 20 years. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, she was drawn to the spiritual architcture of the Vastu* Science, which she immersed herself in for six years. Jackie was a major influence in the building of the temple on the Healing Light Retreat property. Her mission is to build enlightened retreats and communities for the Golden Crystal Age throughout the United States and the world.
Having also built her own vaastu home and temple in Patagonia, Arizona, Jackie believes that each one can heal herself/himself through their higher Buddhic Self and through praying and meditating or living within a vaastu** building. Vaastu architecture that uplifts the soul's consciousness to God consciousness bring perfect wholeness to the body mind and soul. Vastu Science is one of the most exciting studies she has ever discovered. Jackie is married and has two children.
Deborah Ellis Timberlake
Deborah Ellis Timberlake's life passion is to make our world a safer, more peaceful, more beautiful place for our children and all future generations. She has been on a spiritual path for 25 years, a student of a variety of spiritual and religious disciplines. Having enjoyed much professional experience helping not-for-profit organizations, Deborah desires to continue leveraging her business background with her commitment to the betterment of people. And for that reason she is excited to be on the board of Healing Light Retreat. Deborah is a consultant for global finance, human resources, and payroll.
Nancy Badten
Nancy Badten is a graphic designer. She lives with her family in Livingston Montana near the Healing Light Retreat. She has been on the spiritual path for over 40 years and understands how physical wholeness supports spiritual enlightenment. She was inspired to join the board to offer support to bring this mission forward, and to educate people on the best ways to maintain physical health.
